The seminary is an institution and a community whose purpose is to help in the formation and self-formation of the young men who experience and discover the call of God to follow Jesus as his apostles in today’s world. This practice is occurring in four dimensions – human, spiritual, pastoral and intellectual – during the different events of the daily, weekly,
and monthly schedule as:

– Holy Eucharist with homily,
– Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours – morning, evening, and night prayer,
– Sunday Benediction with reflection by seminarians of the last year,
– Meditation,
– Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament,
– Other forms of devotion: Rosary, Station of Cross, Eucharistic procession in the Solemnity of Corpus Christi etc.,
– Private prayer,
– Annual retreat and monthly recollection days,
– Weekly formation conferences lead by the rector, vice-rector, spiritual director, or pastoral director,
– Religious, philosophical and theological study at the Catholic Theological Institute,
– Monthly meetings with the specialists of different disciplines,
– Monthly seminary community meetings,
– Spiritual direction,
– Individual talks,
– Pastoral activity,
– Bible group sharing,
– Preparation of the liturgy,
– Private study,
– Sports and physical work,
– Recreation, visiting of interesting places and institutions, watching TV.

All these activities have one goal – to prepare good, responsible, committed priests, followers of Jesus Christ (alter Christus) for the Church, especially for the Church in Papua New Guinea.
