3 September — Our seminarians met Joe Gigmai Kundun, the nationally recognized artist and leader of the local church community. He shared with the seminarians his pastoral experiences, encouraging them to be zealous and committed priests.

7-8 September — The Archbishop of Mt. Hagen, Douglas Young SVD facilitated recollection day. The theme of these spiritual exercises was „Embrace the Vocation”.

10 September — Fr. Marceliano Oabel CM, our new spiritual director, led the first spiritual conference.

12 September — His Eminence Sir John Card. Ribat MSC installed 16 new acolytes, 8 from the Holy Spirit Seminary and 8 from the religious colleges.

14 September — An American charismatic couple from Texas, Lloyd and Nancy Greenhaw, evangelised and shared their pastoral experience with our seminarians.

17 September — Our seminarians and priests participated in the ceremony of the opening and blessing of the new building of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference. The traditional cutting of the ribbon was preformed by Prime Minister Peter O’Neil, Archbishop of Port Moresby Sir John Card. Ribat MSC, Apostolic Nuncio Abp. Kurian M. Vayalunkal, and President of CBC Bp. Rochus Tatamai MSC.

18 September — The seminarians had a special meeting with Fr. Hans Zollner SJ, the vice-rector of the Gregorian University in Rome and one of the leading ecclesiastical experts in the field of safeguarding minors from sexual abuse. He has been a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors and president of the Centre for Child Protection (CCP) at the Gregorian University.

20 September — The seminarians participated in a meeting at the Catholic Theological Institute with Dr. Ligaya Acosta from Manila and Dr. Brian Clowes from Washington DC, the leaders of Human Life International, a Catholic pro-life apostolate protecting life and family through education.

21 September — Visit in Mt. Eriama Water Treatment Plant.

26 September — The vigil of the Saint Vincent de Paul feast. Fr. Marcin Wrobel CM, the vice-rector of the Holy Spirit Seminary, presided over the Eucharist with the participation of the priests and seminarians of the religious colleges. After the celebration in the church we had a dinner.

27 September — The Vincentians working in the seminary: Fr. Marceliano Oabel, Fr. Marcin Wrobel, and Fr. Jacek Tendej; and in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Bomana: Fr. Emmanuel Lapaz and Br. Joseph Cao, met a group of 8 members of the Vincentian Society at St. Joseph International School in Boroko.

29 September — On the solemnity of the archangel St. Michael, the patron saint of PNG, the whole community of the seminary went for a picnic on the beach in Lea Lea. Coming back home we visited newly opened APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation) conference centre at Ela Beach.

30 September — The representatives of the seminarians participated in a feast, a solemn celebration at St. Vincent de Paul parish in Kanosia in the diocese of Bereina. Fr. Jacek Tendej CM, rector of the Holy Spirit Seminary, presided over the Eucharist. Our seminarians had spent the time of their term break in August with the families of this parish.
